Anyone had rhinoplasty/ nose job?

Hello! We have found another question for you to ponder.

Can you tell me about your experience?
such as the first consultation with the surgeon, how you picked your surgeon, what you got done, after the procedure, pain, etc.

please tell me as much as you can. i really want to know how it is like to get it done.

Didn’t you enjoy that? I did. I think I may add my own answer to that question. How about you?

Have an awesome day!

    I’ve had 3.
1st was 1996. A friend had Cos’ surgery & loved this doc, so I went to her w/o checking her credentials. (BIG MISTAKE!) She did a bad job & I needed a “2nd NJ” 4 yrs later, to fix HER mistakes. This time the whack job screwed my face up really bad, she did NOTHING I wanted in either NJ & created many other problems for me. I can get detailed & explain, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you the rest of my story. 2005 I finally saved enough $ to have my 3rd NJ, solely to fix of the 1st 2. I could have “sued her but I was too young & stupid to pursue that.) I chose another doc & checked his credentials, but yet again… he did NOT do what I wanted him to do. He DID “Fix” the 1st docs mistakes but he did not really do much else in helping my nose look smaller or better. It is still crooked & large. I actually plan on having a 4th NJ when I save enough $. I am going to seek out a doc who is well renowned for their work, specializing in Rhinoplasty & has years of experience. In the mean time, I’m working on my self-confidence. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn’t step 1 foot into a doc office until I was in my 30’s & after I’ve done enough research to choke a horse!

I have a low tolerance for pain, but even the 3 nose jobs didn’t cause me too much discomfort. Pain med’s helped. Swelling is a BIG factor, ice helps w/that, but the swelling will not completely disappear for about a year. It will be very noticeable at 1st for a couple months, but lessens w/time. There is numbness involved, cuz of the cutting of nerves/tissue, my feeling has not returned, I feel my nose, but parts of it, especially the tip are completely numb. I also still have soreness on my bridge, this is not normal however, I know it’s cuz I had Dr Whack-Job & Dr Inexperienced work on me. I know that most people like their noses after their surgeries, but there are some bad experiences like mine out there.

1st consults are usually fun & free or they work the cost into the final bill. Ask as many questions as you can think of & don’t be afraid to ask them how many NJ’s they’ve personally done & what their credentials are. Check out their med license to see if they have any judgements against them. If they are good surgeons you wont have any troubles finding out info. If the office or doc even hints of inexperience or anything that you don’t like, run, run like a mad woman & find another doctor. & do NOT look for a bargain deal. PAY through the nose (pardon the pun) for the best you can find. Also do not expect a major difference, subtle improvements is all the doc can offer & that is all we should expect. I do think it’s worth it, I just wish I picked better doc’s. =O/

    Good luck!
