I’m 14 years old, and I want a nose job .. I know what you’re thinking – ‘Oh boy, who doesn’t?’
My nose has been the cause of a lot of low self esteem issues for me when it comes to appearance. I’ll see pictures of myself and it literally just looks like God accidently put the the wrong nose on me! I’m not looking for a life change, just an appearance change. My parents said that I have their full permission to get it done when I can pay for it myself.
Yes, girls my age are known to be quite impressionable, but I’ve always prided myself in being the type of person who’s not always too eager to impress others – take me or leave me. That being said, I want to do this for MYSELF. Not to ‘fit in’ or get ‘popular’ or to change my life or anything ..
I’m saying all this because I’m fully expecting to get lectures on how I’m young and impressionable, wait a few years, you don’t know what you want, blah blahh ..
I simply asked for answers, so if you’re planning a lecture, just move on.

Cosmetic surgeons do not finance surgery, but they usually have agreements with finance companies who will extend credit to you.
Carecredit: http://www.carecredit.com/ is one of those companies. I’m sure they charge a fee.
Trust me, you don’t get into the OR until you are paid in full.

Yes it is considered rhinoplasty. You need to go to a qualified ear, nose and throat surgeon and inquire about prices.
If you are experiencing any breathing problems, it is possible that the surgery could be deemed medically necessary and your health insurance would pay for some/all of it (if you have health insurance). I had this type of procedure done in the 80’s to correct a deviated septum–the doctor actually raised the tip of my nose to correct a flattened out portion that was obstructing my breathing.
It wasn’t quite the same as a cosmetic nose job, but it did improve the appearance of my nose as well.
What I’m saying is talk to a qualified doctor and mention any breathing difficulties you are having–it is possible that part or all of the procedure could qualify as something other than cosmetic.

My friend and i were talking about rhinoplastys and she said that her insurance actually cover part of hers. She said that she had deviated septums or somthing like that.
I have been intrested in getting a rhinoplasty done becaue i think that my nose is to wide, i have a dent in my bridge where a clay vase fell on my nose, i have a small natural bump that i would like to smooth out, and my family thinks that my nose was actually broken one time but i was never able to get it checked out at a hospital so we don’t know for sure.
I also have bad allergies and trouble breathing.
Does anyone know the circumstances that my insurance will help cover the cost or if any of the things i just pointed out will be included in the list?
Also, if my insurance will cover part of it what parts would i have to pay for myself?

I have been told by several people that if you have sinus problems or breathing problems that your insurance may cover a rhinoplasty, how can you learn whether they’ll cover it before going to a cosmetic surgery consultation?
